Police Search for Alleged Car Dealer Involved in Multiple Scams in Belize City

Police are reportedly looking for one Melbourne Wade who has been declaring himself as a car dealer in Belize City.  Just last week we reported on a report made by former Belize City Mayor, Zenaida Moya whom he scammed out of six thousand six hundred dollars and a Toyota Sienna van.  This week, a similar report has been made to the Police by one Remijia Shultz.  According to Shultz, she saw that Wade was selling a Chrysler van on Facebook’s Buy and Sell and subsequently reached out to him to negotiate and inspect the vehicle.  Shultz and Wade reportedly met up in the Ladyville area on September 8 where Wade explained that the van was not ready to be handed over but that he did have a Nissan Rogue in his inventory that he could loan her until the van was ready.  This, however, was on the condition that Shultz pay five thousand dollars as a down payment which she reportedly did in three installments.  About five days later, Shultz came across the title for the Nissan Rogue inside the vehicle, in the name of one Sheffield Brown.  She proceeded to contact Brown who then asked her to return the vehicle to him.  It is unclear at this point if the vehicle was stolen or loaned to Wade.  According to Shultz, she has been trying to reach Wade but has been unsuccessful so far.  Police are now looking for Wade.
