Public Service Minister Highlights Anti-Corruption Unit on The Morning Show

Usher’s comments were made while on The Morning Show. Another aspect that the Minister spoke on was corruption.  He noted that there is a special unit within the public service that looks at this with a view to train officers on how to identify what corruption is.

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Public Service: “There are definitely some departments, some ministries that need special attention in terms of that particular issue. You mentioned the lands department, immigration department, vital statistics, customs and we have been doing ongoing training and that is where the training that was done, the exercise that was done through Galen University is an important component and that’s what the good governance unit is looking at but again it’s about holding people accountable. It’s about teaching people who to identify it because a lot of persons don’t know what a corrupt act may look like and that is something that is important.”
