Punta Gorda Town Meeting Tackles Crime Issues with Police Commissioner and Local Council

Punta Gorda Town Council in collaboration with the Belize Police Department held a town meeting on Thursday night.  The meeting was a forum open to all residents to look at crime and other issues of concerns within the town and surrounding areas.  Police Commissioner Chester Williams says it was killing the proverbial bird with two stones since he was already in the south for another meeting.

Mayor Carlos Galvez also spoke with our Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung where he confirmed that the Punta Gorda Police had received a mobile to ensure additional patrols.

The meeting took place at the town’s sports complex
