Retired Teacher Dies in Tragic Accident

A retired teacher of Dangriga Town met a brutal death when he fell off his tractor and ran over and fatally injured with the bush hog blade.  73-year-old, Stephen Serrano, was working on his farm in Sittee River, Stann Creek District, when the incident occurred.  His son, Stephen Serrano Junior, reported that he was working on the farm with his father but they were about a mile apart.  He noted that when he didn’t hear the sound of the tractor he went to check up on his father.  He reportedly found the elderly man on the ground and bleeding profusely with multiple injuries.  He was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital but died during treatment.  Investigators have confirmed that Serrano’s injuries are consistent with the son’s report.  Love News understands that the father’s right arm was fractured, he sustained a large cut wound to the back of the heard, a large open wound to the abdomen, a deep cut to the right heel and abrasions to the chest area.   Police are not suspecting foul play.
