San Ignacio Resident Remanded for Possession of Pipe

San Ignacio Cayo resident 42-year-old Dyron Kyle Tiabo was remanded to the Belize Central Prison after being read a single charge of possession of pipe. According to Police, yesterday at around 10:26 am, they were on patrol on the Southside of Belize when their attention was drawn to Tiabo coming out of an empty lot into Orange Street with a big black bag on his shoulder. A search was conducted where they found a pipe in his right hand with a burnt end measuring 3 inches in length. The Senior Magistrate imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $300 and given until March 11, to pay in default of three months imprisonment. Taibo was unable to pay $200 towards an old bill to the court and was therefore remanded to the Belize Central Prison where he will remain until he can do so.
