San Pedro Resident Charged with Raping 15-Year-Old Girl

A resident of the Escalante subdivision in San Pedro Town has been charged for raping a minor.  33-year-old, Ulises Gabriel Melara was picked up by Police after a 15-year-old reported that Melara had unlawful sexual intercourse with her against her will.  The teenager reported the matter to the Police last week Wednesday, in the presence of her mother.  According to her, the incident happened on Friday, May 3 at around 930pm.  She told the Police that she had gone to visit the man at his apartment where the rape occurred.  The child has been medically examined and confirmed to have been carnally known.  Melara is expected to be arraigned this week.
