Despite the alliance’s efforts to strip Barrow of his positions when it comes to the Leader of the Opposition post, Barrow retains that seat with support from Denise ‘Sista B’ Barrow and Hugo Patt. Panton has made it clear that she will be gunning for that seat as well, but it is unclear what maneuvers will be done in this regard. The group had passed a resolution at its October 20 convention to take steps to convince the members of parliament. But, in speaking with Godwin Haylock, the successor for Sista B, he confirmed with Love News yesterday that Sista B has no desire to support anyone other than Moses Shyne for the position of opposition leader.

Godwin Haylock, UDP Queen Square Standard Bearer: “I have spoken to her before and she’s not at that stage at this point. I personally I’m completely for the new leadership team. I think it’s the rebranding of the UDP. I look forward to seeing a new UDP united and I can’t do much more at this stage when it comes to the position of the leadership within the opposition.”
The post of Leader of the Opposition has been held by three persons since 2020, namely, Patrick Faber and Moses Shyne Barrow.
