A family dispute between sisters has sent one to the hospital and left another with a criminal charge. Twenty-three-year-old Monique Tzul appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with a single count of grievous harm against her pregnant sister, 21-year-old Aaliyah Tzul. Monique pleaded not guilty and was offered bail for two thousand dollars plus one sure of the same. She is due back in court on September 23. Allegations against her are that on Saturday, July 20, the sisters met at their mother’s house and got into a verbal altercation. The argument turned physical and Aaliyah punched Monique who responded by kicking her in the stomach, despite knowing she was pregnant.
