Minister Oscar Requena is exploring the available avenues in getting electricity into the village of Na Luum Ca in the Toledo District. It is a village with a population of just under 100 persons, located about a mile and a half from San Jose. This past weekend, Minister Requena led a team into the area where they engaged with the community to talk about the implementation of Stand-Alone Solar System Project. The village, currently without access to electricity, will soon benefit from reliable and clean energy through the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. With access to electricity, students will finally be empowered to study during the night, extending their learning hours and creating a more conducive environment for academic success. Love News understands that is the goal of the government to go beyond education and boost income-generating activities within the village. Reliable power will enable residents to explore new opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurship, ranging from the powering tools and equipment to facilitating longer working hours. Additionally, healthcare services in Na Luum Ca are also set to receive a significant upgrade as electricity will allow for the operation of essential medical equipment, improved storage of medications, and better lighting in healthcare facilities, ultimately leading to enhanced patient care and overall health outcomes for the village. The Stand-Alone Solar System Project aligns with climate resilience efforts, providing a clean and sustainable energy source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and minimizes environmental impact.
