Taiwan’s Foreign Minister to Visit Belize for Bilateral Meetings and Hospital Site Tour

In other news, Belize is preparing to welcome Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Lin Chia-Lung on October 29. The minister will be in the country for two days and is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister John Briceno and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francis Fonseca. During his visit, Foreign Minister Lin will visit the proposed site for the San Pedro General Hospital, being financed by Taiwan. The visit marks the first for Foreign Minister Lin since assuming office in May. Back in July, our News Director Renee Trujillo was in Taiwan and met with the former Vice Foreign Minister, Tien Chung-kwang, where they spoke on the bilateral relations with Belize.

With Taiwan being an island nation advanced in technology and artificial intelligence, Love News asked Vice Minister Chung-kwang if they would consider sharing some knowledge and expertise with Belize.

2024 marks 35 years of diplomatic relations between Belize and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
