Toledo Man Injured in Violent Chopping Incident; Suspect in Custody

A violent altercation on Saturday resulted in a chopping incident in Jacintoville, Toledo. The incident unfolded when a complainant emerged from his residence encountering Melvin Alcaraz in his bathroom. As a result of the incident, Alcaraz sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, reports indicate that he is now in stable condition.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “On Saturday 29th June 2024, police responded to a chopping incident at Jacinto Village in the Toledo district. Upon arrival, they saw one Melvin Alcaraz with chop wound injuries. Information received from a complainant is that he was at home when he heard noises. He came out and saw Melvin Alcaraz inside one of his bathrooms nude. The complainant reported that he became concerned since he had previously made a report that Alcaraz had broken into his house and assaulted someone there. Alcaraz was taken for treatment. He’s in a stable condition and an investigation is being carried out.”

Circumstances surrounding this incident are being investigated.
