Trial Begins for Inmate Accused of Failing to Return Rented Vehicle

A trial of theft for Clinton Medina, who is already serving a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for firearms-related offenses, began in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today. Medina, who is unrepresented, stands accused of renting a Toyota 4-Runner for three days, but not returning it. The incident happened in September 2021. The prosecution called two witnesses today and then closed their case. Medina is set to give his defense on September 29.
