Leader of the Opposition, Moses Shyne Barrow, is still being targeted by members of the United Democratic Party as the move to unseat him continues. A release sent out today indicates that a group of UDP standard bearers referred to as the Alliance for Democracy have submitted a third petition calling for a national party council meeting. The alliance is being led by Albert’s Tracy Panton who has his eye on the leadership seat for the UDP. According to the release, the petition sent to Chairman Michael Peyrefitte is asking for an NPC meeting that would be the platform to review the basis of the decisions by the Central Executive Committee to remove standard bearers and to clarify the interpretations of certain sections of the party’s constitution. It is the alliance’s belief that portions of the constitution are being violated. Best information to Love News is that Chairman Peyrefitte does not intend to respond to this latest petition. One of the most recent moves under the Barrow leadership is the removal of Andrew Bradley for Caribbean Shores Standard Bearer. It is not clear how that removal was done, but over the weekend, a vacancy was published, inviting applications for replacements.
