World-Renowned Piano Duo Mundi: George and Guli Perform in Belize

This week, world-renowned pianists George Lopez and Gulimina Mahamuti are in Belize for a series of performances. The pair goes by the stage name Duo Mundi: George and Guli and have been holding concerts and music workshops for primary school children. The sessions are being held through a collaboration between the Belize School of Music and the National Institute for Culture and History (NICH). Director of the Belize School of Music Gina Scott says Lopez has Belizean roots and has wanted to perform in the country for years.

Apart from the work they are doing for the students, Duo Mundi is scheduled to perform one show for the public at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts. Scott says that the performance holds a special significance as it will pay respect to another respected Belizean musician.

Duo Mundi has performed at various venues in Europe, Mexico, Asia, and the United States to name a few.
