A Belize City woman appeared in court yesterday for throwing a glass bottle at her 66-year-old mother, hitting her in the face. 35-year-old, Kimberly Jones, pleaded not guilty to harm and was granted bail of fifteen hundred dollars along with some conditions. The back story dates back to Friday night when the mother, Glenda Jones, returned home from church and began telling her son-in-law about the debris they had lying around in the yard. According to the senior citizen, the mess had been causing ants and roaches to enter her home. In response to the woman’s complaint, the accused began cleaning the area, and subsequently threw a brown pint bottle at her mother. The elderly woman was taken to the hospital where she complained of pain in her face. The daughter was charged and is to reappear in court on October 28. The accused and the victim reside in the same yard but in separate houses on Youth for the Future Drive in Belize City. Interestingly, one of the bail conditions is for her to stay away from her mother until the matter is settled.
