Gov’t Launches Digital Duty Leave for Public Officers

The Government of Belize has announced the launch of the Digital Duty Leave Component on the expanding “MyGOB Government HR Platform.” This new feature provides public officers with an easy, efficient and fully digital method to apply for duty leave online, in addition to existing options for sick leave, long leave, and short leave. The new system offers a streamlined process that integrates all stages of the leave application, from submission and recommendation to approval and financial execution. With these enhancements, public officers can now manage their leave with greater transparency and convenience. This digital initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance, and the Ministry of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform, and Religious Affairs. The MyGoB Platform plays a crucial role in the government’s National Digital Agenda 2022-2025, which aims to transform Belize into a fully digital society. This comprehensive strategy seeks to create a more integrated, digital-first public service platform that enhances service delivery, reduces administrative burdens, and improves the user experience for all citizens.
