Allegations of Setup Arise in Elmer Nah Case: Prosecutor Responds

In recent weeks, our newsroom has received videos and declarations from multiple persons, declaring that Nah is being set up for the triple murder.  Some have even named another former police officer as being the actual hitman.  Prosecutor Arifa Elrington spoke on this matter, saying that while the videos and declarations are being made, there are no expert opinions attached to present in court.

Alifa Elrington, Prosecutor: “Yes the defense will have sufficient time between now and the time for trial to be able to get it enhanced, to be able to do whatever they need to do with the video to show the court that particular position. My position simply was that you cannot come before the court and argue before the court and give what I explained to the Chief Magistrate was third party hearsay because you’re telling the court that your client told you that some expert said, nothing was put in an affidavit, this was not put before the preliminary inquiry in the proper manner because he could have submitted the necessary affidavits in that manner. And so that was my point this morning that even if the court were to have entertained the argument itself it had to be properly before the court and it was not properly before the court because we don’t know which expert you’re talking to. We don’t know anything, we don’t even know if you actually had an expert look at the video under the circumstances. But like I said they will have ample opportunity to do all of that before the High Court.”

When asked if they are worried that the possibility of video evidence would throw a wrench in the court matter, Pascascio responded, saying justice is all that they seek.

Dion Pascascio, Relative of Murder Victim: “He has a right to do whatever he wants in his defense so for us we are neither here nor there about that. We know that God will bring justice to the case and whoever the killer is and if it is him that you know God will allow it to take place. So for me as a family we’re not obsessed with Elmer Nah and wanting this and wanting that. We just want justice to be done and we want to follow the process through where the court is concerned. So for us we may not have liked the way it happened in terms of we didn’t know when certain things were going on, it would have been good to know but apart from that you know it’s neither here nor there for us.”

Nah is being accused of killing Jon and David Ramnarace and Jon’s wife, Vivian Belisle.  The trio was shot on December 31, 2022 at the couple’s home in Belmopan.  Jon and David died at the scene while Belisle passed away 15 days after the shooting.
