Andre Perez’s return to Cabinet not ruled out by PM Briceno

It has been five months since former Minister of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, Andre Perez, became embroiled in a sexual assault scandal. While the results of the inquiry into Perez’ alleged conduct are still pending, Prime Minister John Briceno did not rule out the possibility of his return to Cabinet. Briceno said that it’s all a matter of timing, but that the People’s United Party has more pressing concerns at the moment.

Perez’s scandal broke in August of 2023, with screenshots of messages between him and his accuser, carrying on conversations of a sexual nature. Perez then requested a leave of absence from Cabinet which was granted.
