The Ministry of the Public Service kicked off its annual Anti-Corruption Month today to reaffirm its dedication to promoting transparency and combating corruption. The ministry, through its Good Governance Unit, gathered political leaders, stakeholders, and public officers to provide an update on the government’s work to improve transparency. Under the theme “Empowered by Choice, United by Voice, Belize Against Corruption,” the month-long initiative aims to engage citizens, particularly the youth, in the fight against corruption. Director of the unit Dr. Cesar Ross spoke about the importance of the initiative and what today’s activities entailed.
Ross says the unit will hold several competitions and embark on an awareness campaign to encourage the public to be more engaged in the fight against corruption.
The Good Governance United was established in 2022.
