Belize City man stabbed during brawl at basketball tournament

A construction worker was stabbed during a brawl at a basketball tournament in Belize City on Saturday. Around 5:30 p.m., 23-year-old Jason Flowers was at the Saint John’s Primary School basketball court when a fight broke out between two teams taking part in the tournament and fans. Flowers was reportedly trying to exit the compound when he walked through a crowd of people and received a stab wound. However, Flowers didn’t realize he was stabbed until he got to a bridge on East Canal. The Neal’s Penn Road resident then made his way to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he received medical treatment. He remains in stable condition. Police investigations continue.
