Belize City Resident Out on Self-Bail After Rejected Guilty Plea

An eighteen-year-old Belize City resident is out on self-bail tonight after the court rejected his guilty plea. Clifton Flores appeared in court charged with aggravated assault with a machete upon his neighbor Michael Sanchez. He pleaded guilty but said he was not in agreement with the facts that were read to him. As such the magistrate entered an equivocal plea of not guilty on his behalf and granted him bail in the sum of twelve hundred dollars. His bail comes with the condition that he must not interfere with his neighbor. He is due back in court on October 17.
