ComPol Chester Williams Elected First Vice President of Caribbean Police Association

Belize’s Police Commissioner Chester Williams has been re-elected to serve on the executive of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP).  In this week’s conference, hosted by Belize, Commissioner Williams’ term as the Second Vice President ended, but in a round of new elections he was elected to serve as the First Vice President.  Meanwhile, Atlee Rodney, the Commissioner of Antigua and Barbuda was re-elected as president; St Lucia’s Commissioner, Crusita Descartes Pelius was re-elected as secretary/treasurer, and the Bahamas’ Commissioner, Clayton Fernander, was elected as the Second Vice President.  The 4-day event wrapped up yesterday at the Princess Ramada and had the participation of 25 Police Commissioners from across the Caribbean.  Upon joining the association last year, Commissioner Chester Williams was able to lobby for Belize to be the host-country for this year’s annual conference.  The commissioners are expected to return home over the weekend after country tours and sightseeing.
