ComPol to Move Over to Ministry of Indigenous, Constitution & Religious Affairs & Transportation

In just a couple weeks, the top cop of the Belize Police Department will be moving on to become the CEO in the Ministry of Indigenous Constitution & Religious Affairs & Transportation. It’s a huge transition for Chester Williams, who has more than three decades in uniform. While Williams’s expertise as an officer will prove useful in his transportation portfolio, questions have arisen about his ability to handle indigenous affairs. Addressing those concerns, Williams says that he doesn’t foresee any challenges, as he spent many of his formative years living in various villages within the Toledo District.

Williams has already been in various discussions with Minister Dr. Louis Zabaneh in preparation for his transition. He will leave the department under the leadership of Dr. Richard Rosado.
