Dangriga Police has issued a public appeal in helping them locate Charles Augustine Castillo who is wanted for the possession of false documents. It is a case surrounding a 2-storey house on Commerce Street in Dangriga Town that Castillo was having transferred in his name through falsified documents. The house belonged to Zoe Innes who passed away in February 2020. Shortly before her passing, however, Innes was in the middle of an arrangement with Castillo who was to take care of the property for her. Upon her death, the agreement was not finalized but Castillo took liberties and used the house as an Air B and B which he had reportedly been doing since 2018. In 2022, however, Innes’ siblings who reside in the United States instructed their nephew, Kenrick Fitzgerald Francisco, to go and check on the property. Francisco did just that and found that Castillo had already began a transfer at the Lands Department into his name. As a result, Francisco successfully applied to the Ministry of Natural Resources for a restriction on the property, meaning that no transaction can be carried out on the house unless it is court ordered. Police are now in search of Castillo to further the investigation. Meanwhile, one Nelson Moss has already been arrested and charged in connection with this matter. Francisco found that Moss had obtained a First Registration of the property from the Lands Department. He was charged back in May for possession of false documents. Love News understands that Innes’ three of the five surviving siblings have granted power of attorney to Francisco. Up to this evening, Castillo who resides in the Lakeland Area of Dangriga has managed to elude the Police.
