Dangriga Residents Take a Stand Against Corruption with Integrity Walk

Residents of the Culture Capital, Dangriga Town, went out in numbers yesterday to take a stance against corruption. The Dangriga Town Council held an integrity Walk in line with Anti-Corruption Week. The event was geared at bringing together citizens and walking as a collective force against the social issue. Stann Creek Correspondent Harry Arzu spoke to the Town Administrator, Francis Flores, about the outcome.

Francis Flores, Dangriga Town Administrator: “Quite a number of citizens from Dangriga especially those from the police department and others attended today’s event. I gave my thoughts of corruption. You know, I indicated to them before the walk that corruption occurs in every facet of our society, from the family to other institutions be it non-government, government institutions that it occurs there. And it continuously rears its ugly head because it’s unacceptable. And so after I made those remarks I declared the route of the anti-corruption march which started at the Princess Royal Park, then proceeded to Front Street, to Commerce Street, to the river side, and back to the Princess Royal Park.”
