Ex-Cop Elmer Nah’s Triple Murder Indictment Delayed Due to Missing Paperwork

Elmer Nah, the ex-cop accused of a triple murder, was brought to Belize City where he was to be indicted on three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of deadly means of harm. The 40-year-old was brought before Justice Nigel Pilgrim this afternoon but the matter was adjourned until September 26 due to a lacking in paper work.  This is the part of Nah’s case where he will be asked to enter a plea which will then proceed with a trial date.  Love News understands that under the Indictable Offences Act, the deadly means of harm charge would have to be heard separately before a judge and jury, while the murder and attempted murder charges would be heard by a judge alone.  It is unclear why the indictment did not occur in Belmopan or if the trial would also be heard here in Belize City. In today’s hearing, the Special Prosecutor, Terrence Williams appeared virtually along with one of Nah’s attorney, Godfrey Smith. Meanwhile, his other attorney, Lynden Jones, was present in the courtroom. Nah is being accused of killing the couple, Jon and Vivian Ramnarace and David Ramnarace inside their Belen Street home in Belmopan on December 31, 2022.  The attempted murder of David’s girlfriend, 30-year-old, Yemi Alberto.  Nah was a police officer formerly attached to the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) of the Belize Police Department.  He is also the nephew of the former GSU Commander, Marco Vidal, who has since resigned from the force.
