A fisherman was fined over $19,000 after he pleaded guilty to having 243 undersized conchs. 32-year-old Wilder Linareez, 36-year-old Eddy Peter Garcia and 40-year-old Marvin Omar Coleman appeared unrepresented in the magistrate’s court where they were read a single charge each of possession of undersized conchs. Linareez pleaded guilty while Garcia and Coleman pleaded not guilty. Linareez was given a non-custodial sentence and a fine of $7,000 which he has until December 20 to pay. Yesterday around 11:30, while fisheries officers were in the Glovers Reef Marine Reserve, the men were found with 243 unprocessed undersized conchs.
