Fistfight Among Minors in Belize City Leaves Teen Hospitalized

A fistfight among minors in Belize City on Saturday night left a 15-year-old hospitalized. Around 8:30, two brothers, ages 14 and 15 years old, were walking near the Pound Yard area when a minor approached them. The teen asked one of the brothers why he had previously called him “cuniado”, which translates to “brother-in-law” in English. A fight then ensued that led to the minor stabbing one of the brothers.  He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Police are seeking a Belize City student in relation to the incident.
