Police are investigating a reported burglary at a residence located at the corner of New Road and Victoria Street in Belize City, where a firearm and ammunition were reported stolen from an unoccupied upper flat of a two-story building. Sometime at around ten thirty on Monday night, Police received information from the Police Control Room regarding a burglary in progress. In response, officers from the Northside Crimes Investigation Branch visited the property on New Road and Victoria Street. There, they spoke with 42-year-old Denver Lee, a Belizean businessman and resident of the same address. Mr. Lee reported that sometime between July 2024 and April 21, 2025, an unknown individual or individuals broke into the upper flat of the cream-colored, two-story concrete building—formerly occupied by his father, Wilson Lee, who has been living in the United States since 2019. According to the report, stolen from the residence was one black 9mm Glock pistol, including two magazines and 40 live rounds. The serial number of the firearm is currently unknown, and the weapon is estimated to be valued at five thousand Belize dollars. Scenes of Crime Technician processed the scene, where it was observed that the intruder(s) gained entry by prying open a burglar bar on a southern-facing window. No physical description of the suspect(s) was available at the time of reporting, and police found no eyewitnesses or direct evidence linking a person to the crime. Police have confirmed that Jaheem Morris is currently in custody in connection with a separate robbery investigation. Additionally, two individuals—Sherman Samuels and Shamar Faber—are currently hospitalized in stable condition, reportedly receiving care at the Pediatric and Surgical Wards, respectively. It is not yet clear if their cases are connected to the burglary. Investigations continue, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
