Government Officials Trained for Disaster Management as Hurricane Season Nears

The second group of officials from the Government to complete disaster management training was celebrated yesterday in a closing ceremony. The group participated in the Flood Warning Capacity Improvement for the Belize River Basin Project, hosted by the Republic of China (Taiwan). The training was aimed to enhance communication, coordination, and collaboration between the different departments in the Government to seamlessly work together to address emergencies, crises, or urgent situations. With the hurricane season fast approaching, Minister of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Orlando Habet spoke about the importance of the training.
The training was a collaboration between the Government and the Republic of China (Taiwan). Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize, H.E Lily Li-Wen Hsu says that she is honored that Taiwan can share its knowledge with Belize.
The project took place from March 18 through to April 3.
