IFAD Evaluation Team Visits Belize to Study Rural Resilience Projects

Today, a team from the International Fund for Agriculture and Development’s (IFAD) Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) arrived in Belize. The visit is a part of the team’s engagements with Small Island Developing States (SIDS) as they seek to conduct studies on projects implemented by or through Resilient Rural Belize (RRB). The team used semi-structured interview guides to conduct meetings and interviews with IFAD’s programme stakeholders, including country teams, national and international partners, implementing agencies, project staff, and the beneficiaries (producer organizations) across all six districts of Belize. According to GOB, through these activities, the team gathered information aligned with the evaluation methodology outlined in their approach protocol. Additionally, the visit also allowed the IOE to observe project achievements and better understand Belize and other SIDS, particularly regarding key vulnerabilities related to social, economic, and climate change impacts and how these factors influenced IFAD’s programme.
