Immigration Clerks in Belmopan End Walkout After Meeting with CEO

Chief Executive Officer for Immigration, Tanya Neal-Santos has assured our newsroom that the issue surrounding a walkout by clerks in Belmopan has been resolved.  As a matter of fact, she indicated that the meeting with the group concluded just before news time tonight.  Earlier today, a credible source inside the Immigration Department reported that at least ten clerks walked off the job this morning.  The source noted that the clerks were upset that they had not been paid since last month, and that despite queries in this regard, nothing had been done.  We understand that this group was initially employed to work under the Amnesty Program.
