Man Fined for Public Cannabis Smoking Near Belize High Court

31-year-old Marshall Hinds was charged with smoking cannabis in public. According to police, yesterday at around 4:00 p.m. while they were conducting mobile patrol in the Treasury Lane area, when their attention was drawn to Hinds who was seen smoking cannabis near the Belize High Court. Hinds, who washes cars in the area, was charged, and appeared unrepresented before the magistrate court today where he pleaded guilty to the allegations. He was fined $50 which he was given until March 28 to pay in default to 1 week imprisonment.
