Police Commissioner Seeks Compensation Over Defamatory Video on Gun License Matter

Police Commissioner Chester Williams is seeking compensation for damages reportedly brought on by a video aired on Channel 5 and Channel 7, at the request of opposition leader, Shyne Barrow, regarding a gun license matter. The commissioner’s attorney, Andrew Marshalleck wrote to the media outlets and Barrow, claiming that the statement has brought disrepute to his client’s name. Earlier this week, the Commissioner did speak on his intention to sue based on misinformation fed to the public.

Police Commissioner Williams is asking for a retraction, and an apology, as well as compensation for the legal fees and damages caused. Love News understands that Channel 7’s attorney has responded to Williams’ claim, saying that the video aired was a paid political ad.
