PUP Chairman unfazed by recall petition against PUP’s Gilroy Usher

Isn’t it over? That was the People United Party’s Chairman’s response when asked about the recall petition that has been launched against Port Loyola Area Representative Gilroy Usher Sr. A few days ago, the former area representative Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez launched the petition to have Usher removed from office. The move is seen by many as an attempt for Martinez to gain cheap political points, including Minister Henry Charles Usher. Today, Usher weighed in on Martinez’s latest stunt.

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform: “Isn’t that recall petition over now? I thought it was over now. That’s what Booth said, “it’s over now”.

Reporter: It’s half way through he said.

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform: “I’m not even looking at that.”

Reporter: I mean, if he’s successful though, do you think the PUP representative can withstand it?

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform: “I am absolutely sure that the Honorable Gilroy Usher would be able to withstand some type of whatever measure that fellow brings.”
