Senators Discuss International Men’s Day and Mentorship Needs

The matter of International Men’s Day came up in the Senate this morning by Senator Isabel Bennett.  The Senator noted the importance of recognizing men who take up their roles in society with pride and dedication.  She noted the statistics of men at the Belize Central Prison as she highlighted the need for mentors.  Following up on her presentation, UDP’s Senator, Michael Peyrefitte, echoed her sentiments, but did cite issue with the date, particularly in Belize.

November 19 marks International Men’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the positive influence of men, their contributions to society, and their roles as fathers, mentors, and leaders.
