Tracy Panton Seeks Mediation in Legal Dispute with Opposition Leader Shyne Barrow

While the Leader of the Opposition can now put this story behind him, his opponent, Tracy Panton is seeking mediation.  In a letter dated today, Panton wrote to Barrow’s attorney, Dr. Christopher Malcolm, stating, quote, “We note that although there is an upcoming hearing for application for court orders by you it may prove prudent and reasonable to invite you and your clients to reconsider going to mediation.  We believe that mediation would be beneficial to the parties and alleviate the need for any further protracted litigation with costs attendant to same. We had filed a Notice of Selection of Mediator in which we identified either Deborah Swift or Consuelo Godfrey as possible mediators from the list of court connected Mediators. Perhaps you may wish to consider them or suggest a mediator(s) for our consideration. Thereafter, we may be able to inform the court and do all things necessary to assist the court office to facilitate a mediation session most urgently.”  End of quote.  The letter was sent via Panton’s attorney, Ellis Arnold.  Both Barrow and Panton are slated to appear in court on Friday regarding the allegations of contempt against the latter.  Our newsroom is following this situation as it develops.
