Tri-partite Agreement Signed to Promote Education Through Football in Belize

A historical tri-partite agreement was signed between and among the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology; the Football Federation of Belize and the FIFA Foundation Digital Education Programme.  Under this program, an estimated ten thousand students in Belize will be using football to promote education.  The program will provide training, materials, school accompaniment and evaluation to implement robotics and technology projects in the national curriculum while using football to promote quality education and healthy activity in Belize.  Minister of Education, Francis Fonseca, explained that such a collaboration aligns with some of the goals of the ministry.

Also present at the signing ceremony this afternoon were the CEO in the Ministry of Education, Dian Maheia; Mauricio Macri, Executive Director of the FIFA Foundation, and the President of the Football Federation of Belize, Sergio Chuc.

Prime Minister John Briceno was also present at today’s signing at the House of Culture.
