With only a few months before the general election is called, one of the burning question posed to the Alliance for Democracy on numerous occasions is ‘why now?’. The alliance, led by Tracy Panton, and complemented by Patrick Faber, John Saldivar and Beverly Williams is working at kicking Shyne Barrow out as the leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) It is a curious situation as a satisfactory response is yet to be given to the question, “Why Now?” Faber responded today by drawing a life and death analogy.

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet: “Make it very simple so people can understand. You’re driving along and you went to an event, your family member is getting into the car drunk, drunk drunk drunk. Get in the car and he’s swerving all over the road, he’s driving up stop, he’s not following the rules and what do you say ? I’ll wait until I reach home then I will talk to him. Or do you say “Stop the car. Get out of this driving seat. We’re going to die because you can’t save your life when you done lose it. We use this quotation from the Honorable National Hero of Belize the Honorable Philip Goldson, the time to save your country is before you lose it. Well the time to save our party is before we lose it. This man is….”
Troy Gabb, Host, The Morning Show: I think your example is a little bit extreme.”
Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet: “That’s fine you can see it that way. What I’m saying is we are going down the road, don’t believe me then believe the lord one of your favorite people Troy Lord Ashcroft and his poll. What did it tell you ? It told you that he is very very unpopular. He is one of the most unpopular politicians.”
