Arson Attempt on Barrack Road: Belize City Business Targeted in Nighttime Attack

A Belize City man is in police custody after he was allegedly caught on camera last night attempting to set a Belize City business ablaze on Barrack Road. Around 7:40, the attempted arsonist poured gasoline in front of the Kixx Remix/ME Brand store and lit a plastic bottle to ignite flames before escaping on foot. Fortunately, residents and passersby extinguished the fire before damage was caused inside the store. Moesha Godoy, one of the owners, says they had just left the premises when they got a call that in front of the store was on fire.

Police are expected to lay charges against the suspects over the weekend.
