Butane Prices Tick Upward

The price of butane went up marginally this week. As of today, Tuesday, December 5, the wholesale and retail price for butane increased by one cent in urban and rural areas countrywide. The increase was announced by the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise.  In all six districts, the new import wholesale price is three dollars and fifty-nine cents. In urban areas, the new price per pound stands at a dollar and nineteen cents while the price per gallon now stands at five dollars and nineteen cents. Meanwhile, in rural areas, the price per pound stands at a dollar and twenty-one cents, while the price per gallon stands at fine dollars and twenty-nine cents. The SCU says that the prices established for imported butane are based on the mixtures of 70:30 (Propane: Butane) only as per the requirement of the Belize National Standard Specification for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
