Former Mayor Zenaida Moya Scammed by Car Dealer; Arrest Made

Former Belize City Mayor, Zenaida Moya was scammed by a purported car dealer.  Moya reported to Police that she had agreed to purchase a Ford Escape SUV from one Melbourne Wade of Apollo Street, Belama, Belize City. Between March 21 and June 27, she reportedly paid just over six thousand six hundred dollars in multiple installments.  Both Moya and Wade agreed that Moya would surrender her Toyota Sienna van for him to sell which would make up the difference owed to him for the SUV.  Moya further alleges that Wade sold the van for eight thousand dollars, and to this date she is yet to receive the Ford Escape which she paid for.  As a result, 31-year-old Melbourne Harrison Wade Junior was arrested and charged yesterday with theft.  Love News understands that two other persons may face charges in this matter as several of the online deposits were made to their bank accounts.
