Ministry of Education Adjusts Continuous Professional Development Schedule

For many years, the month of August has been set aside for teachers to enroll in continuous professional development (CPD) workshops. The workshops for a part of the requirements for a teacher to remain licensed, but the model of holding CPDs in August often reportedly caused coordination issues. However, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology has made adjustments through the Teacher Learning Institute, to ensure that CPD’s were available all year round. Minister of Education Francis Fonseca explained why it was important to make the shift.

Teachers still attend workshops at their schools held by their various managements in August.
