Coronada Viafranco, the new Town Administrator for the Dangriga Town Council, says that changing the work ethic of the council is her first area focus upon taking up the post last month. Viafranco joined the council three weeks ago, following the resignation of her predecessor Austin Petillo, who had a very public falling out with Dangriga Mayor Robert Mariano. She told our newsroom that she took the first two weeks on the job and met with every department of the council, to learn the concerns of the staff and identify challenges. That’s when she realized that the culture of work at the council needed to be reformed. The former Senator and radio broadcaster, also says she is working closely with Mayor Mariano to ensure smooth operations at the council.
Viafranco has previously served as the administrator for the National Association of Village Councils (NAVCO)
